Stanislaus County Qualification

Course Overview

This action-packed course introduces students to shotgun, pistol, and carbine rifle training in a single afternoon. Participants will work through dynamic courses of fire that may require the use of one, two, or all three firearms, with a strong emphasis on safe and efficient weapon transitions.

Students should already be familiar with their firearms and possess solid gun-handling skills.

3-Gun Training Course

  • Three-gun transitions
  • Shooting for time
  • Reloading drills
  • Multiple-weapon course-of-fire drills

Required Equipment

  • Semi-automatic rifle (AR, AK, Mini-14/30, or sub-gun acceptable)
  • Two rifle magazines
  • Rifle sling
  • Shotgun (semi-automatic or pump, 18–22 inch barrel, minimum 3-round capacity)
  • Semi-automatic pistol
  • Outside-the-waistband pistol holster
  • Two pistol magazines
  • 150 rounds of pistol ammunition
  • 200 rounds of rifle ammunition
  • 75 rounds of shotgun ammunition (birdshot recommended; buck or slug acceptable)

Required Attire & Safety Gear

Closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, eye protection, and hearing protection (electronic hearing protection recommended) are required. A hat is highly encouraged.
